Ferrero Pocket Coffee Espresso

Here’s another goodie that I found at CostPlus.

These were great! Each rectangular tablet (there were five) was very thick, and when you bit into it, a gush of liquid espresso burst out. It tasted like real espresso, and it went very well with the dark chocolate shell. I think I need to buy more of these for my emergency chocolate stash at my office!

Trader Joe’s Belgian Flaked Truffles

I saw these at the checkout line at Trader Joe’s, so I had to buy them. I am such an impulse shopper there.

According to the box, there are sixteen truffles, eight of which are milk chocolate and the other eight are dark. But when I opened the box, I saw this.

These all looked the same to me. And they tasted the same too, like dry chocolate truffles covered in flakes of dry chocolate. Seriously, I needed a glass of milk after one of these things. The chocolate flavor was not very pronounced, especially for a truffle, which is mostly chocolate with some butter or cream added. Still, I wouldn’t pass on one of these if I was offered one, but I won’t be buying them again.

Sticky Fingers Bakeries Cocoa Chocolate Chip Scones

Robert and I found this scone mix and Cost Plus, and he offered to make them. Of course, I didn’t say no.

choc01292

I am not a big scone fan, as I usually find them dry and tasteless. However, these were really moist and delicious, and there was a lot more chocolate flavor than I expected. They were like big soft chocolate chip cookies, only less sweet. So they were OK to have for breakfast!

Jo’s Candies All Natural Dark Sea Salt Honey Grahams

Robert and I found these individually wrapped chocolate graham crackers at CostPlus World Market yesterday.

choc01291

These were good. The chocolate was laid on thick and the graham cracker was very crispy, but I kind of expected more flavor from the chocolate. I don’t think it was more than 50% cacao, as a guess. So it was good, but not great.

Pepero Dark

My co-worker Nate M. brought these in for everyone to try.

choc01290

I have had the Pepero brand sticks before, and they are a lot like Pocky. In fact, I would not be able to tell them apart without looking at their labels. But I have never had dark chocolate on a chocolate biscuit stick like these, and they were really good. This would be my “go to” Pocky, if I had such a thing.

Thanks Nate!

Museo Del Chocolate Fossil Dark Chocolate With Pistachios

My friend Sissie C. brought me this very unusual chocolate from Colombia, from a place called Museo Del Chocolate, the chocolate museum.

choc01289

Look at this BEAUTIFUL chocolate! A nautilus fossil, highlighted with gold dust, with the museum logo, also in gold dust, surrounded with pistachios, all on top of dark chocolate. And in addition to being beautiful, it was delicious, with a fruity aftertaste reminiscent of sweet tarts or a fruity marshmallow. I loved it, and so did Robert, with whom I shared half of this bar.

Thanks Sissie!

Starbucks Sea Salt Caramel Bites

Robert picked these up at Starbucks, and I shared them at work.

choc01288

These were very good! The chocolate was good, nothing great, and while the cacao percentage was not listed, I would guess it to be 40-50%. But the caramel was great, very soft and chewy and flavorful, the latter because it was quite salty. It went well with the chocolate, and everyone ate several of them. In fact, my boss liked them so much that he came back again for some more.

Thanks Robert!
